The Missouri Well Installation Board supervises the administration and enforcement of the Water Well Driller’s Act and Missouri Well Construction Rules (Code of State Regulations 10 CSR 23-3.0). The board protects Missouri’s groundwater resources by establishing standards for the well construction and well drilling industry in Missouri. The board adopts and amends rules governing water well, heat pump, monitoring well and pump installation. The board oversees the examination and licensing of all well drillers and pump installers. The board sets fees to administer the law. When necessary, the board also takes action against those who violate the Water Well Driller’s Act and Missouri Well Construction Rules. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Geological Survey Program assists the council in its duties.
Board Meetings
The board meets at least four times a year. The public is welcome to attend these meetings, which may be in person, by conference call or through Webex. The department cannot guarantee the quality of the Webex or conference call options. The department attempts to correct any technical difficulties as they arise, but the meeting will not be subject to change or repeat due to any technical difficulties.
If you would like to address the board on any agenda item, you will need to notify the department before the meeting. You can do this by emailing the board secretary at cara.bird@dnr.mo.gov if attending by Webex or conference call. If attending in person, you can complete a Speaker Request form that will be available at the registration table at the meeting.
