The Missouri Department of Natural Resources takes a holistic approach to protecting human health and the environment from improper management of solid and hazardous waste. Data is collected through various sources, including the state and federal level and through regulated entities. The types of data currently available are listed below.
Hazardous Waste
- Envirofacts - Search federal environmental database systems for information about various facilities and sites, including toxic chemical releases, hazardous waste handling processes and Superfund status
- Environmental Emergency Response Tracking Systems - Search either the MEERTS or MERLIN tracking systems for information about hazardous substance releases and response incidents
- Environmental Site Tracking and Research Tool (E-Start) - Access information about site investigations and cleanups, as well as certain regulated sites within a specific community or area
- Hazardous Waste Facility and Generator Summary Reports - These reports are available to download through Missouri Gateway for Environmental Management (MoGEM)
- Hazardous Waste Generator Lists - Download Excel or Zip files that list active and deactivated hazardous waste generators
- Hazardous Waste and Infectious Waste Transporters - Search a list of companies or individuals who have obtained a license to transport hazardous waste, infectious waste or both
- Missouri Commercial Hazardous Waste Facilities - Access a list of all Missouri commercial hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities
- Radioactive Waste Carrier/ Shipper Registration - Shippers and carriers must register through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Shared CROMERR Services (SCS)
- Radioactive Waste Shipment Fees - Pay your fees through Missouri Gateway for Environmental Management (MoGEM)
- Regulated Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal (TSD) Facilities – Access information about TSD facilities the department regulates and documents regarding the property that the department currently has available in electronic form
- Underground Storage Tanks Database - Access information about underground storage tank registration information on file with the department
Solid Waste
- Hazardous Waste and Infectious Waste Transporters - Search a list of companies or individuals who have obtained a license to transport hazardous waste, infectious waste or both
- Missouri Solid Waste Management Map - Interactive map of permitted solid waste landfills and processing facilities in Missouri
- Operating Solid Waste Landfills (coming soon!) - Access information about Missouri's operating demolition, sanitary, special waste and utility waste landfills
- Operating Solid Waste Processing Facilities (coming soon!) - Access information about Missouri's operating waste transfer stations, processing facilities and material recovery facilities
- Scrap Tire Haulers - Access information about companies or individuals who have obtained a permit to transport scrap tires for profit within Missouri
- Scrap Tire Processors - Access information about companies or individuals who have obtained a permit to process scrap tires
- Submit a methane gas report for your landfill - Follow the instructions in the Reporting Landfill Gas Data - PUB2942 fact sheet and email the data to swgasmon@dnr.mo.gov
- Submit groundwater monitoring data for your landfill - Follow the instructions in the Reporting Landfill Groundwater Data - PUB2943 fact sheet and email the data to deq.swmpgroundwatermonitoring@dnr.mo.gov
- Solid Waste Management District Funding Allocations - Information about the amount of solid waste tonnage fee funds distributed among the solid waste management districts
- Solid Waste Management District Grants - Access forms and instructions for the solid waste management districts in Re-TRAC. Please contact the department's Waste Management Program to register for the Re-TRAC software
