C&L Grease and Wastewater Services LLC is located at 1140 E. First St. in Carterville, Missouri, Jasper County. C&L provides used cooking oil disposal; wastewater, grease trap and septic system pumping; and sewer clog removal. They also manage organic byproducts from industrial food manufacturing and processing facilities. C&L serves both residential and commercial businesses in the Joplin area, including facilities in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and Oklahoma.
The facility either land applies the material as a soil amendment to farmland on fields it owns or takes the material to local wastewater treatment facilities for processing.
Compliance History
In 2026, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' Southwest Regional Office investigated five environmental concerns submitted by the public. The concerns reported strong, pungent odors and alleged improper land application practices by C&L. The department investigated the concerns and did not observe violations of the Missouri Clean Water Law or the Air Conservation Law at C&L Grease and Wastewater Services LLC.
Operating Permit
C&L Grease and Wastewater Services LLC previously operated under a Master General Missouri State Operating Permit. Master general permits, as opposed to site-specific permits, are issued to multiple facilities, where activities are similar enough to be covered by a single set of requirements. Because of its size and the amount of materials it is handling, C&L no longer meets the applicability requirements of the master general permit.
C&L applied for a site-specific operating permit. C&L submitted an application for operating permit, Land Application Management Plan, land application site evaluations and soil reports to the department for review. These documents will be linked below once available.
