Federal facilities include sites both currently and previously owned or operated by the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. General Services Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture or other federal agencies. The department's Federal Facilities Section provides guidance to these facilities to ensure activities conducted at the sites follow both state and federal environmental laws and regulations. The department also provides oversight and reviews investigations, management and cleanup of hazardous (chemical and radiological) substances at these facilities.
