Air Intermediate Operating Permit
If your business is required to obtain a Part 70 Operating Permits but accepts voluntary, practically enforcement limitation to reduce emissions to less than 100 tons per year of any regulated pollutant and is less than 10 tons per year of any single hazardous air pollutant and less than 25 tons per year of any combined hazardous air pollutant, you may require an Air Intermediate Operating Permit to address potential air emissions. |

Air Major Construction Permit Sections (7), (8) & (9)
If your business plans to construct a new installation or modify an existing minor installation and the project has the potential to emit more than major emission levels of a regulated air containment or construct a new installation or modify an existing major installation and the project has the potential to emit more than the minor levels per year, you may require an Air Major Construction Permit Sections (7), (8) & (9) to address potential air emissions. |

Air Minor Construction Permit Section (5)
If your business plans to construct a new installation or modify an existing minor installation and the project has the potential to emit less than major source levels per year; or you plan to construct a new installation or modify an existing major installation and the project has the potential to emit less than the minor levels per year, you may require an Air Minor Construction Permit to address potential air emissions. |

Air Part 70 Operating Permit
If your business has the potential to emit greater than 100 tons per year of any regulated pollutant, has the potential to emit greater than 100 tons per year of any single hazardous air pollutant, or greater than 25 tons per year of combined hazardous air pollutants, or is required by a New Source Performance Standard or a Maximum Achievable Control Technology, you may require an Air Part 70 Operating Permit. |

Area-Wide Land Disturbance Master General Stormwater Permit MOR100000
If your business is under contract with a city, county or other governmental jurisdiction that has a stormwater control program for land disturbance activities and you plan to complete activities such as clearing, grubbing, excavating, grading and other activities that result in the destruction of the root zone or other land disturbance that will cause pollution to waters of the state, you must obtain an Area-Wide Land Disturbance General Stormwater Permit MOR100000 to address stormwater discharges from the property. |

Asbestos Renovation and Demolition Notification Requirement
The department requires notification of demolitions and abatement projects involving regulated structures at least 10 working days before crews begin a project. To learn more, visit the department's Asbestos website. |

Clay Pits Permit MOG840000
If your business operates a clay pit or mine, you must obtain a Clay Pits MOG840000 master general permit for the discharge of stormwater, snowmelt and infiltration water from the site. |

Construction or Land Disturbance Master General Stormwater Permit MORA00000
If your business plans to disturb one or more acres of land, you are required to obtain a Construction or Land Disturbance Master General Stormwater Permits MORA00000 to address stormwater discharges from property. In addition, construction activities that disturb less than one acres when part of a larger common plan of development or sale that will disturb a cumulative total of one or more acres over the life of the project also require this permit. |

Fuel Spill Cleanup Permit (Petroleum Impacted Water Remediation) MOG940000
If your business discharges wastewater or stormwater associated with petroleum impacted water at any industrial or commercial facility, you must obtain a Petroleum Impacted Water Remediation MOG940000 master general permit. |

Hazardous Waste/ Infectious Waste Transporter License
If you or your business plans to transport hazardous waste including waste oil, explosives, gases, flammable and combustible liquids, flammable solids, oxidizers and organic peroxides, poisons, radioactive materials, corrosives or infectious waste, you must obtain a Hazardous/ Infectious Waste Transporter License. |

In-Stream Sand and Gravel Mining Permit
If your business plans to engage in surface mining of industrial minerals such as sand, gravel, limestone, dolomite, clay or other construction aggregates, you may need an Industrial Mineral Mines Permit – In-stream Sand and Gravel Mining to engage in surface mining. |

Land Application of Domestic Wastewater Permit MOG823000
If your business is a no-discharge, private or domestic wastewater treatment facility with design flows of less than 50,000 gallons per day and land apply the wastewater, design flows of less than 50,000 gallons per day and plan to land apply the wastewater, you must obtain a Land Application of Domestic Wastewater MOG823000 master general permit. |

Major Water Users
Missouri collects water use data to better understand and manage the state’s water inventory. A Major Water User is any person or entity that has the capability of producing a large amount of water (100,000 gallons per day or 70 gallons per minute or more) with all their combined wells or surface intakes. This water can be from either groundwater via a well, or surface water from a stream, river, lake, pond, or spring. Major Water Users are required by law to report the volume of water used by March 31 of the year following the usage. |

Municipal Stormwater/ Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Operating Permit
If you are a public entity that serves a population of more than 100,000 or considered an "urbanized area" with less than 100,000 people, you are required to obtain a Municipal Stormwater / Municipal Separate Sewer System MS4 Permit. The owner/ operator must implement a series of programs and collection of systems like ditches, roadside gutters, retention basins, underground pipes designed to gather stormwater. The permit is designed to help reduce the discharge of nutrient and sediment pollution to waters of the state. |

Municipal Wastewater Operating Permit
If your business plans to operate a publicly owned treatment works facility that receives primarily domestic sewage from residential and commercial customers, you will need to apply for a Municipal Wastewater Operating Permit. Larger types of these facilities may also receive and treat wastewater from industrial facilities connected to the system. |

Open Burning
Open burning is the burning of any materials in which air contaminants are emitted directly into the air without first passing through a stack or chimney. The department's fact sheet summarizes allowable and prohibited open burning under Missouri regulations. It does not include open burning restrictions that city or county governments may impose in addition to Missouri’s state regulations. Prior to conducting any open burning, businesses and citizens should contact the city or county of jurisdiction for any local restrictions. |

Open Pit Mining Permit
If your business plans to remove topsoil and other soil material to expose the mineral commodity, you may need an Industrial Minerals Mines Permit - Open Pit Mining. Industrial mineral open pit mine sites range in size from one acre sand and gravel pits to 1,000 acre limestone sites. |

Pesticide Applications Permit MOG870000
If your business sprays biological and chemical pesticides that leave a residue in waters of the state, you must obtain a Pesticide Applications MOG870000 master general permit. The permit requires applicators to implement site-specific control practices and other pest management strategies that are designed to minimize discharges of pesticides/ herbicides to waters of the state. |

Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Comprehensive Master General Stormwater Permit MOR04C000
If your business plans to discharge from a regulated Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems, you must obtain a Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems Comprehensive General Stormwater Permit MOR04C000 to address stormwater discharges from the property. This system collects stormwater runoff from roads with drainage systems, municipal streets, catch basins, curbs, gutters, ditches, man-made channels, storm drains from cities, townships, counties, military bases, hospitals, prison complexes, highway departments, universities and more. Phase II Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems Master General Stormwater Permit MOR040000
If your business plans to discharge from a regulated Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems, you must obtain a Phase II Small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems MORo40000 general permit to address stormwater discharges from the property. This system collects stormwater runoff from roads with drainage systems, municipal streets, catch basins, curbs, gutters, ditches, man-made channels, storm drains from cities, townships, counties, military bases, hospitals, prison complexes, highway departments, universities and more. |

Public Drinking Water Construction Permit
If your business plans to construct a public water system that will supply drinking water to the public, you must obtain a Public Drinking Water Construction Permit. You must obtain this permit if you also plan to complete the following construction projects to the water system: waterline extensions, waterline replacements, drilling water supply well, construction a storage tank, adding a disinfection system, treatment changes, building a pump station or other improvements or modifications. A public water system has at least 15 service connections or serves at least 25 people at least 60 days out of the year. If your business plans to connect to a permitted public water system, then you are not required to obtain this permit. |

Public Drinking Water Permit to Dispense
If your business plans to operate a public water system that supplies drinking water to the public, you must obtain a Public Drinking Water Permit to Dispense. A public water system has at least 15 service connections or serves at least 25 people at least 60 days out of the year. If your business plans to connect to a permitted public water system, then you are not required to obtain this permit. |

Remedial Action Plan
If you want to treat, store or dispose of hazardous remediation waste at a remediation waste management site in Missouri, you may be required to follow a Remedial Action Plan. The plan lists conditions about how to treat, store or dispose of hazardous remediation waste. |

Scrap Tire Collection Center
If your business plans to collect scrap tires prior to being offered for recycling or processing and plans to keep fewer than 500 scrap tires on-site at any time, your facility is not required to obtain a permit. However, there are exemptions and record keeping requirements. Also, the center shall be used only for the proper and temporary storage of scrap tires that will be removed for recovery or processing or for temporary storage at a permitted scrap tire processing facility for permanent disposal at a permitted solid waste disposal area. |

Scrap Tire Processing Facility
If your business plans to operate a facility to reduce the volume of scrap tires by shredding, cutting, buffing, chipping, baling or otherwise altered so they can be recycled, used for resource recovery or disposed of, you will be required to apply for a Scrap Tire Processing Facility Permit. |

Section 401 Water Quality Certification
If your business plans to perform any work in a waterway or wetland, you may be required to submit a Section 401 Water Quality Certification. Contact the appropriate U.S. Army Corps of Engineers district to determine if a federal permit is required. If there is no federal permit required, then you are not required to obtain a 401 Water Quality Certification from the department. |

Sewer Extension Construction Permit
If your business plans to construct a gravity sewer extension, force main and lift station, you may need a site-specific Sewer Extension Construction Permit. You may also need this permit if you plan to construct a non-earthen flow equalization storage basin at a lift station and an inline storage. |

Site-Specific Domestic Wastewater Operating Permit
If you or your business has received a Wastewater Construction Permit for domestic wastewater discharges and have completed the construction project, you will need to apply for a Site-Specific Domestic Wastewater Operating Permit before you may operate, use or maintain the existing point source of water pollution. |

Solid Waste Processing Facility Construction Permit
If your business plans to operate a facility where solid wastes are transferred from one container to another or are processed, you are required to apply for a Solid Waste Processing Facility Construction Permit. Types of processing facilities include incinerator, compost plant, infectious waste, transfer station and material recovery, with or without composting. |

If your business plans to build, erect, alter or replace an existing or proposed point source, water contaminate source or wastewater treatment facility, you may need a Wastewater Construction Permit. |
