The Department of Natural Resources held a public comment period on the Regulatory Impact Report and proposed amendments to Missouri's Water Quality Standards and is working on responses to comments. As a result of recent litigation against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the federal government is obligated to impose new water quality criteria on Missouri lakes, if the state doesn't do so by Dec. 15.
