The various hazardous waste fees are collected by the department from businesses that manage hazardous waste. These funds are used to fund the department's hazardous waste management operations. These activities include conducting hazardous waste permitting activities, site investigation and cleanup activities, preventing leaks from underground storage tanks, emergency responses to hazardous substance spills, paying other state agencies for services and performing other duties detailed in the Missouri Revised Statutes, sections 260.350 to 260.575, 260.500 to 260.550, and 319.100 to 319.139, RSMo.
*If your facility recently received a mailed hazardous waste fee invoice, please read. It came to the department’s attention that the web address included on your hazardous waste fee invoice and the credit card payment instruction sheet (the green sheet included with the invoice) is not working. Using either Chrome, MicroSoft Edge or Safari web browsers, use this payment link to access the correct web address to submit your payments by credit card. Once you are on that page, please use the instructions on the green sheet (included with your invoice), beginning with #2.
