The department will hold a public informational meeting regarding a new Master General Permit and renewing Master General Permit MO-G220000. These actions are in response to the new additions in Missouri Clean Water Law regarding land application of industrial wastewater and wastewater treatment residuals. The current Master General Permit includes wastewater, stormwater, surface land irrigation and subsurface soil dispersal from meat and poultry processors and renderers.
- Master General Permit MO-G220000 (renewal) will cover discharging activities (process wastewater and stormwater) as well as no-discharge activities of meat processing wastewater and wastewater treatment residuals.
- Master General Permit MO-S220000 (new) will cover no-discharge activities (subsurface soil dispersal, composting and land application) of meat processing wastewater and wastewater treatment residuals.
This meeting is an opportunity to provide input regarding both proposed Master General Permits.
