The El Dorado Springs station monitors ground-level ozone and fine particulate matter. It is not close to urban areas or large air pollution sources, so it provides information on regional background levels of the monitored air pollutants and tracks attainment of the national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS). Pollutants historically monitored at this site include nitrogen dioxide from 1998-2003.
