The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is responsible for issuing permits required by federal and state environmental laws and regulations. The department works with businesses and individuals doing business in Missouri to make sure they operate safely and to ensure the environment and citizens of Missouri are protected. These permits ensure they understand and comply with all applicable federal and state environmental standards to protect our air, land and water and minimize their impact on the environment.
Available below are permits the department has issued that are currently available in electronic form. The department issues both general and site-specific permits, depending on the regulations. A general permit is one permit that is issued to multiple businesses or individuals. The activities at these locations are similar enough to be covered by a single set of conditions and pre-set limits that must be met. A site-specific permit is one permit issued to one business or individual. These permits are written to be specific to that individual facility or location, which tends to be large or complex facilities and processes.
*Some permits are not available on the department's website due to their file size. To review or obtain copies of those permits, please submit a Sunshine Law Request.
