Ethanol

Missouri ranks 13th in the U.S. based on ethanol plant nameplate capacity. As of the Renewable Fuels Association’s 2021 Ethanol Industry Outlook, Missouri has the nameplate capacity to produce 287 million gallons of ethanol annually, which is roughly 1.6% of the nation's capacity of 17.4 billion gallons.

Biodiesel

As of April 2020, Missouri has five commercial biodiesel production facilities which use both soybean oil and animal fats as feedstock. The total nameplate capacity in the state is around 216 million gallons, which roughly accounts for 9% of the nation’s capacity of nearly 2.5 billion gallons.
