JEFFERSON CITY, MO, DEC. 23, 2024 – Federal and state officials will hold a public meeting for the Lower Missouri Jefferson City spin-off study draft report Jan. 8, 2025, in Jefferson City.
Cohosted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, this meeting will provide an overview of the Lower Missouri Jefferson City spin-off study draft report and feature an open discussion with participants. The meeting is an opportunity for the public to ask questions regarding the spin-off study.
The study’s purpose was to identify causes and impacts of recurring flooding along the Capital View Levee and the unconstructed, but authorized, Missouri River Levee System L-142 project near Jefferson City in Callaway County, Missouri. The study area included the north (left) bank of the Missouri River at Jefferson City, in the vicinity of mile marker 142.
