The department proposes to issue a Section 401 Water Quality Certification to Leland Maize, subject to general or special conditions. The department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the proposed certification conditions until July 2, 2026. The public can review the proposed certification conditions below. Other relevant information is available for review and copying upon request. Written comments may be submitted by mail to Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Quality Certification, PO Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0176 or by email to wpsc401cert@dnr.mo.gov. Please include the certification number in the comment letter.

Leland Maize requested Section 401 Water Quality Certification to accompany the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' (USACE) Permit for Nationwide Permit (NWP) 13 for "bank stabilization". The approximate coordinates for the proposed project are 38.791822°N, -90.581011°W, in St. Peters, Missouri. The project proposes to stabilize a section of stream along Mexico Road, impacting a total of 567 linear feet of stream. The project includes riprap, concrete aprons, construction of a retaining wall and live staking to accomplish project goals.

This certification may be issued under Section 401 of Public Law 95-217, the CWA of 1977 and subsequent revisions. Pursuant to Section 121.7(d), this office certifies the proposed project will comply with Missouri water quality requirements.
