The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) requested Section 401 Water Quality Certification for a proposed project located on the Mississippi River, near Winfield, Missouri - approximate coordinates are 38.999842°N -90.686975°W, in Lincoln County, Missouri. The proposed project includes constructing a new 1200-foot lock at Lock and Dam 25 on the Mississippi River, to aid in large-scale navigation efficiency. The construction of the new Lock will take place over multiple phases. This certification will cover Phase 2, which includes constructing a lock foundation as well as general site preparation.
