The Missouri State Energy Planning (MoSEP) Process Stakeholder Group is a stakeholder workgroup made up of representative from the department, energy suppliers, consumers and citizens interested in energy issues. The workgroup was created as part of the Missouri State Energy Planning (MoSEP) process, which identifies and addresses topics critical to Missouri's current and future energy needs. These topics include efficiency of energy use, affordability, diversity and security of energy supplies, regulatory changes and economic development. Formal workgroups will address some of these initiatives, while exploratory workgroups will further develop other initiatives.
Attendance at these meetings may be in person, by conference call or through Webex. The department cannot guarantee the quality of the Webex or conference call options. The department attempts to correct any technical difficulties as they arise, but the meeting will not be subject to change or repeat due to any technical difficulties.

Virtual Energy Stakeholder Kickoff Workshop
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources held the Virtual Energy Stakeholder Kickoff Workshop as the Division of Energy began its Missouri State Energy Planning process. The department provided an overview of recent energy-related trends in Missouri as well as hosted discussions of stakeholder interests. The meeting also included an opportunity to provide input on topics for consideration at future workshops. Stakeholder-driven energy policies are crucial to the state’s success in meeting future energy needs and your input will help guide the scope of state policy considerations.
Missouri State Energy Planning (MoSEP): Summary and Action Report Process Kickoff and Next Steps - PUB2968 - The first Summary and Action Report for the MoSEP process summarizes activity that occurred in association with the Oct. 29, 2020 kickoff meeting of the MoSEP process, as well as our plan for additional engagement.
Cycle 1 Initiative Development
The department held two rounds of virtual meetings for each of the six regions of the state. Based on stakeholder feedback at these meetings, the department identified stakeholder-suggested initiatives for Cycle 1 of the MoSEP process based on criteria presented during the regional meetings. These criteria include the relation of initiatives to the six statewide core values for the MoSEP process, having an initiative “champion” to partner with the department, and being regionally relevant, consensus-based (to the greatest extent possible), actionable, time-bound and measurable. Formal workgroups will address some of these initiatives in order to create Summary and Action Reports for Cycle 1, while exploratory workgroups will further develop other initiatives in preparation for their consideration during Cycle 2.
