2 members must be archaeologists or skeletal analysts; 2 must be Native Americans of tribes recognized by the U.S. government; 1 must be a non-Native American minority; 1 must be a public member; and the State Historic Preservation Officer as Chair. Member shall be residents of the State of Missouri.
3 years and until their successors are selected and qualified.

The UHBCC, in consultation with the State Historic Preservation Officer, determines proper disposition of human remains; considers requests by professional archaeologists for extensions of research time; and considers requests for methods of dating human remains.
3-4 meetings per year, Jefferson City and elsewhere around the state.
Meetings 9 - 3 (6 hours); Preparation/Review of Material (2 hours) = 8 hours per meeting.
Submittal to Staff Contact and/or Staff Assistant no less then 30 days in advance of meeting.
Comment allowed at each meeting, or anytime by phone, letter or e-mail.
