Jake Buxton was named Deputy Director of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, effective Jan. 13, 2025.
Jake began his career in state government in 2017, working for both Governor Greitens and Governor Parson. He then served as legislative liaison and advisor for the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. Most recently, Jake served as the legislative liaison for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) for the past five years. While working with the legislature consumed much of his time, he also developed strong connections with the conservation and natural resources communities in Missouri, managing MDC’s relationships with many external partners that will benefit the Missouri Department of Natural Resources as well. Jake also managed several grants for MDC, developing relationships with local governments and non-profits.
Jake holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Truman State University.
