JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 14, 2023 – Celebrate Women’s History Month at Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site with a hike through the homestead. The guided hike starts at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, with participants hearing stories of the generations of women who called the homestead home for more than 186 years.

The 1.5-mile hike will take visitors through the 1837 Boone home and will explore areas of the park off the main trails. Participants should meet at the covered picnic shelter near the office and are encouraged to wear sturdy hiking shoes, dress for the weather, bring water and use insect repellent. In the event of inclement weather, the hike may be canceled. Contact the site office at 417-751-3266 for the most up-to-date information.

Nathan and Olive Boone Homestead State Historic Site is located at 7850 N. State Highway V, Ash Grove, northwest of Springfield.
