JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 11, 2023 – Washington State Park is set to host a MO Streams program Saturday, Aug. 26, in which kids and adults are welcome to learn about all things aquatic in Missouri.

Schedule of events:

  • Petroglyph Tour – 2 p.m. at the petroglyph site. The Washington State Park team will offer a tour of the petroglyphs, the park's history carved in stone. Learn about the Mississippian-era carvings, the culture and community who created them and possible interpretations. Enjoy a short walk on a covered walkway with interpretive panels highlighting the cultural features.
  • Learn to Fish – 4 p.m. at the boat ramp. Bring a fishing pole and learn to fish with park representatives at the boat ramp. Come alone or bring your children for a fun experience as everyone will have a chance to participate.
  • Stream Bubble – 7 p.m. at the campground amphitheater. Explore an inflatable bubble model of a Missouri stream, complete with imitation algae and cutouts of native fish and crustaceans. This is an entertaining display to crawl through for all ages!
