JEFFERSON CITY, MO, SEPT. 19, 2022 – Roaring River State Park is hosting Charlie 22 Outdoors for Operation Roaring River from Oct. 2 to Oct. 5. Charlie 22 Outdoors is a veteran support and suicide prevention organization, whose mission is to, “provide outdoor activities to our nation’s veterans with the goal of showing them there is hope, love and a personal meaning in God’s grace.” 

Charlie 22 team members will present a number of different activities for disabled veterans. Activities include fly fishing, bluegrass music, arts and crafts, nature crafts and much more. Event dates and times are: 

  • Sunday, Oct. 2: 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • Monday, Oct. 3: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, Oct. 4: 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
  • 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5

All veterans and active-duty personnel are welcome to apply, and there are still spots available. All expenses (lodging, meals, guides, gear, licenses and travel) are paid for eligible participants. There will be fly and spinning reel fishing options, wading and bank fishing options, as well as wheelchair accessible fishing areas.
