JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 14, 2025 – Have you always wanted to see the Katy Trail and Rock Island trails but are unable to bike or hike them? Missouri State Parks invites senior citizens to experience both state parks from the comfort of an open-air tram coach. This annual tram tour series consists of eight tours at various locations along the Katy and Rock Island trails. These tours are round trip and last approximately two hours. A variety of routes give visitors a chance to see stretches of trail they may not be able to experience otherwise.
The first tour kicks off on May 13. This tour will take visitors from Windsor to Green Ridge and back on the Katy Trail. There will be a morning tour and an afternoon tour, each hosting approximately 50 people. An interpretive guide will give a presentation on the history of the Katy Trail and will provide commentary on natural and cultural features along the way. Snacks and bottled water will be offered to each participant.
Tours are free, but space is limited, and registration is required. Registration for the May 13 tours are now open. Tours will be offered at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and will last about two hours. To reserve your spot, call the park office at
573-449-7402 or visit the reservation page at icampmo1.usedirect.com/MSPWeb/Activities/Search.aspx.
