JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 03, 2025 – The team at Mark Twain State Park invites the public to join them for a volunteer workday starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15. Participants will help build a new trail in the 107 Recreation Area. Sunday, March 16, will be an alternate rain date or carryover day if needed.
The new Ben Sapp Memorial Trail will be a 1.1-mile hiking-only trail that traverses woodlands and prairie features. The team needs help clearing the corridor in the wooded areas, cutting and moving brush and trees, bench-cutting and leveling trail surface, marking the trail path and removing trip hazards. Volunteer by yourself, with your family and friends or with a group or organization. Volunteers should bring water, lunch and work gloves.
