JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 5, 2022 – Ready for an adventure after dark? Join Ha Ha Tonka State Park team members and head to Island Cave where you will experience sounds of the day only to emerge from the cave after dark to hear the sounds of the night.

The exploration will take place at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 22. Space for the program is limited and registration is required. To register, call the park at 573-346-2986 or visit icampmo.com.

Island Cave has slick and rough surfaces. To enter the cave, you must bring one light source (flashlight, headlamp, etc.) and wear closed-toe shoes (sandals and other opened-toe shoes are not permitted) and full-length pants. Hard hats will be provided. Portions of Island Cave are very narrow, and the hike to, as well as exploration of, is strenuous and only recommended for individuals in good physical condition.

Participants will meet at the Spring Trailhead in the lake parking lot. To get there from U.S. Highway 54, turn onto State Road D and continue approximately 2.7 miles to Tonka Spring Road. The lake parking lot is located on the right. Ha Ha Tonka State Park is located at 1491 State Road D, Camdenton, Missouri.
