JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 12, 2022 – Summer will be here soon and Washington State Park wants to help make the transition fun and educational during a weekend of special activities. 

Saturday, May 28

  • 2 p.m. – Petroglyph Tour: Join the interpretive team to learn how the park’s history was carved in stone and see the amazing petroglyphs early inhabitants left behind. Meet at the petroglyph site.
  • 4 p.m. – Summer Stroll: Starting at the 1,000 Steps Trail trailhead, interpretive team members will lead a summer stroll along the base of the 1,000 Steps Trail to view and discuss seasonal flora and fauna.
  • 7 p.m. – S’mores and Campfire Stories: Meet at the amphitheater and enjoy s’mores and listen to nature stories.

Sunday, May 29

  • 2 p.m. – Petroglyph Tour: This will be a repeat of Saturday’s tour.
