JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 27, 2022 – Team members from Missouri State Parks invite the public to attend informational meetings throughout the state to provide their input and comments, and to ask questions about our parks and their operations. The parks holding meetings are:

  • Finger Lakes State Park, 1505 E. Peabody Road in Columbia: Open house from 1 to 2 p.m. at the beach parking lot. In the event of rain, the open house will be held at the enclosed shelter. For more information, call 573-443-5315.
  • Lewis and Clark and Weston Bend state parks: Combined open house begins at 3 p.m. at Lewis and Clark State Park Shelter, 801 Lake Crest Blvd. in Rushville. For more information, call 816-579-5564.
  • Big Lake State Park, 204 Lake Shore Dr. in Craig: Town hall meeting begins at 11 a.m. For more information, call 660-771-6341.
  • Washington State Park, 13041 State Highway 104 in De Soto: Open house from 10 a.m. to noon at Shelter 2 (Big River Day-Use Area). For more information, call 636-586-5768.

Park team members will be on hand at the visitor center to answer questions and provide information.

Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings are being held virtually or in-person in all state parks and historic sites to help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings will inform the public on the current status and future plans for the park or historic site and offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.
