JEFFERSON CITY, MO, AUG. 1, 2023 – Missouri State Parks representatives will be on hand to provide information and to answer questions the public may have during open houses and town hall-style meetings held this month throughout the state.
The following parks and historic sites will hold meetings this month:
- St. Joe State Park, Park Hills: 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, in Shelter 1.
- Missouri Mines State Historic Site, Park Hills: at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at the Powerhouse Museum.
- First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site, St. Charles: 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the visitor center. This will be held in conjunction with Katy Trail State Park – Eastern Section and Edward “Ted” and Pat Jones-Confluence Point State Park.
- Scott Joplin House State Historic Site, St. Louis, Missouri, at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Scott Joplin House.
- Bryant Creek State Park, Ava, Missouri, at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the north day-use area.
- Montauk State Park, Salem: 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at the amphitheater.
- Battle of Athens State Historic Site, Revere: 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, in the shelter house.
- Wakonda State Park, La Grange: 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at the Agate Lake Shelter. This will be held in conjunction with Iliniwek Village State Historic Site.
- Shepherd of the Hills State Park, Branson: 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, in the barn.
Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings are being held virtually or in-person in all state parks and historic sites to help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings will inform the public on the current status and future plans for the park or historic site and offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.
