JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 7, 2022 – Join First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site team members for an outdoor concert featuring an old-time string band, Three Crooked Men.

The concert kicks off at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 21, with the band performing on the fiddle, banjo, guitar and mandolin. The trio also sings old country songs.

Hailing from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Michael Banvard started focusing on old-time music while attending graduate school in Austin, Texas. He dabbled in numerous musical traditions, never expecting to find that the fiddle would be his primary instrument.

Originally from Bloomington, Illinois, Seth Barth learned to play clawhammer and two-finger-style banjo while learning tunes from some of the best musicians in the region.

Keith Dudding first heard pickin’ music in his hometown of Fairmont, Minnesota, where a high school friend introduced him to bluegrass music. Since 1993, Dudding has hosted “Down Yonder,” a bluegrass and old-time music show on the radio.
