JEFFERSON CITY, MO, NOV. 7, 2022 – The bread and butter class originally scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6 at Current River State Park has been postponed until Saturday Dec. 10 at the same time.
Fall is a great time to prep and put food up for use in the winter months. Join team members as they make acorn, cattail flour and pawpaw breads. And what better way to eat bread than with butter – apple and pawpaw butter, that is!
Participants will learn about making flour out of nuts and cattails and then bake bread using that flour. Pawpaws have been picked and frozen so attendees can see how to make bread and butter using them. Persimmons may be available as well.
Snacks and drinks will be available, but attendees will need to bring their lunch and a jump drive for the PowerPoint presentation as well as something to take notes with. Participants must be 16 years old or older to attend. Space is limited and registration is required. To register contact Connie at 573-751-1224 or connie.weber@dnr.mo.gov. Registration closes Dec. 1, 2022.
Current River State Park is located at 11053 County Road 19D in Salem.
