JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 18, 2022 – Fall is a great time to prep and put food up for use in the winter months. Join Current River State Park team members as they make acorn, cattail flour and pawpaw breads. And what better way to eat bread than with butter – apple and pawpaw butter, that is!

This class will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6. Participants will learn about making flour out of nuts and cattails, and then bake bread using that flour. Pawpaws have been picked and frozen so attendees can see how to make bread and butter using them. Persimmons may be available as well.

Snacks and drinks will be available, but attendees will need to bring their lunch and a jump drive for the PowerPoint presentation, as well as something to take notes with. Participants must be 16 years old or older to attend. Space is limited and registration is required. To register contact Connie at 573-751-1224 or connie.weber@dnr.mo.gov. Registration closes Nov. 1, 2022.

Current River State Park is located at 11053 County Road 19D in Salem.
