Release Date

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 3, 2023 – – Join park team members at Big Sugar Creek State Park at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, to learn more about wildflowers in the Ozarks. Participants will hike 3 miles on Ozark Chinquapin Trail to look for spring wildflowers.

This event is free and open to the public. The trail is rugged with some steep sections, ticks and possible water crossings. Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes and insect repellant, and bring water and snacks. Registration is encouraged but not required, and can be completed by calling the Ozark Chinquapin Nature Center at Roaring River State Park at 417-847-3742.
