JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 3, 2023 – Join Hayley Howard at Watkins Mill State Park 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, to learn more about the nearly 2,000 plant species native to Missouri. Howard will share past, present and potential future uses of native plants in Missouri communities.

Plants are the foundation of many facets of our modern economies – from timber production to outdoor recreation – and they form the backbone of our agricultural history. Today, new uses of native plants improve quality of life for all, including creation of pollinator habitat, managing stormwater runoff and storage of carbon from the atmosphere.

This presentation is sponsored by the Missouri Speakers Bureau, which is jointly organized and managed by Missouri Humanities and the State Historical Society of Missouri.
