JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 15, 2023 – In collaboration with the Astronomical Society of Kansas City and the Hi Lonesome Chapter of Missouri Master Naturalists, Knob Noster State Park will present a Dark Skies viewing program beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, June 30, at the parks’ Shawnee Group Camp. Participants will have an opportunity to experience the vanishing night skies while learning how to protect and preserve them.

Visitors should come prepared with water, snacks, weather-appropriate clothing, insect repellent, a flashlight and a blanket or chair. For directions to the Shawnee Group Camp, see the map below and watch for directional signs at the park.
