Release Date

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 9, 2022 – Missouri State Parks and Ozark Regional Library are partnering to bring the community a fun and informative kids’ bicycle safety program for both parents and kids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at the Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site.

Kids’ skills will be tested on a bicycle safety course and, upon passing, they will be awarded their own personalized Missouri State Park Rangers driver’s license. Parents and guardians will also learn about other safety topics, such as how to document details that may help in an emergency. Kids are invited to bring their own bikes for a safety check and to use in the safety course. If a child doesn’t have a bike of their own, one can be borrowed from the park. Toddlers are invited to participate with tricycles.

This free public event will be held at the day-use parking lot next to the museum. Parking will be in the grass between the museum and the day-use playground area.
