JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 14, 2022 – Spend the day outdoors and help one of Missouri's most scenic state parks by volunteering at the 29th annual "Keep Baker Beautiful Day" from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30 at Sam A. Baker State Park.

This special event not only commemorates Earth Day, but is also a great and fun way of connecting to the great outdoors. There will be assignments for all ages. Mulching, gardening and litter patrol are just a few of the projects planned for the day. All are welcome! A crew leader from the park will lead each group through its assigned service. A free picnic lunch will be provided. We will match all service projects to age and ability of the volunteers.

Participants should bring drinking water and a pair of work gloves, wear closed-toed shoes and dress for the weather. Meet at Shelter #1 behind the store at 8:30 a.m. to get your project assignments.

In case of severe weather, the event will be canceled. In case of inclement weather, call 573-856-4514 or 573-856-4411 the morning of the event to to find out if it will occur.

Sam A. Baker State Park is located in southeast Missouri, 4 miles north of Patterson on Highway 143 in Wayne County.
