JEFFERSON CITY, MO, OCT. 27, 2023 – Calling all goblins, ghosts and creatures of the night. Come to Sam A. Baker State Park Saturday, Oct. 28, for an evening of Halloween frights and fun! Come dressed as your favorite character and trick or treat your way through the campgrounds. Halloween games, a haunted hike and other activities will be a part of the festivities. End the evening with s’mores around a campfire.

Halloween schedule:

  • 4-6 p.m. – Trick-or-treating in the campground and trunk or treat near the recycling station by the Mudlick Mountain Store and Grill.
  • 5-8 p.m. – Games and activities, photo booth, campfire and s’mores around the Mudlick Mountain Store and Grill.
  • 6-8 p.m. – Haunted hike on the Shut-Ins Trail (no pets, please). Hike is offered repeatedly between 6 and 8 p.m.

Campers are invited to participate in the fifth annual campsite decorating contest, with prizes awarded to the winners. Free parking is available at the basketball court, Shelter 1, the visitor center and the field. Accessible parking will be at the CCC Lodge. Food will be available for purchase from the store and grill.

For more information, call the park concession at 573-856-4524. The event is subject to cancellation due to severe weather. Guests should bring a flashlight. Sam A. Baker State Park is located at 5580 State Highway 143 about 4 miles north of Patterson.
