JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 28, 2022 – Mark Twain State Park, Mark Twain State Historic Site and Union Covered Bridge State Historic Site together invite the public to attend a combined informational meeting to provide their input and comments and to ask questions about the park and historic sites. Park and historic site team members will be present to answer questions and provide information. The open house will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at the park’s campground amphitheater. Ice cream will be served.
Prior to the meeting at 5 p.m., guests are invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Halley’s Comet disc golf course at Mark Twain State Park in the Buzzard’s Roost picnic area. This is the first disc golf course built in a Missouri state park, providing yet another recreational opportunity for park visitors.
Input from the public is important to Missouri State Parks. These informational meetings are being held in person or virtually in all state parks and historic sites to help create two-way communication with the public. The meetings will inform the public on the current status and future plans for the park or historic site and offer visitors the opportunity to comment on the facilities.
