JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 29, 2021 – The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation will consider nominations to the National Register of Historic Places during its meeting at 10 a.m. Friday, April 15 in the Bennett Springs Conference Room at the Department of Natural Resources Conference Center, located at 1730 East Elm St., Jefferson City.

The following nominations will be considered at the April 15 meeting: 

  1. Russell Hotel, 200 E. Commercial St., Charleston, Mississippi County.
  2. Kellogg-Mackay Company Buildings (Railroad Related Commercial & Industrial Resources, MPDF), 2020-2030 Walnut St., Kansas City, Jackson County.
  3. Shady Grove Cemetery, 502 Country Road 211, Gordonville (vic), Cape Girardeau County.
  4. Forest Grove Cemetery, 892 Golf Road, Lexington (vic), Lafayette County.
  5. Machpelah Cemetery, 900 S. 20th, Lexington, Lafayette County.

The Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation includes historians, architects, archaeologists and citizens interested in historic preservation. The council is appointed by the governor and works with the Department of Natural Resources' State Historic Preservation Office, which administers the National Register of Historic Places program for Missouri. The council meets periodically to review Missouri property nominations to the National Register, the nation's honor roll of historic properties. Approved nominations are forwarded to the Keeper of the National Register in Washington, D.C., for final approval.
