JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JUNE 28, 2022 – Join team members at Washington State Park for a weekend of fun Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3. Fun activities for the event include the following:
Saturday, July 2
- Petroglyph Tour – 2 p.m. at the petroglyph site. Join interpretive team members as they explain how the park’s history was carved in stone. Learn about the Mississippian-era carvings, the culture and community who created them, as well as possible interpretations. Enjoy a short walk on a covered walkway featuring interpretive panels highlighting the park’s cultural features and see the amazing petroglyphs left behind.
- Nature Bingo – 4 p.m. at the pool. Play a classic game of bingo, but with a Missouri nature-themed twist.
- Parktionary – 7 p.m. at the campground amphitheater. This game is like Pictionary, only more fun! Enjoy a guessing game of park-themed drawings.
Sunday, July 3
- Petroglyph Tour – 10 a.m. at the petroglyph site. This is a repeat of Saturday’s program.
- Scavenger Hunt – Noon at Big River Day Use Area – Swimming at the river this weekend? Stop by to check out a Missouri stream wildlife display and join in on a water creature scavenger hunt. Borrow a net and try your hand at catching aquatic wildlife and other objects that are native to Big River. Wear water attire and sturdy water shoes.
