JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 12, 2022 – Team members at Cuivre River State Park invite the public to take a wildflower hike from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, April 16 and Saturday, April 23.
Spring wildflowers, called ephemerals, have a short blooming period. Ephemerals bloom early, taking advantage of the sunlight hitting the woodland floor before the trees leaf out. You won't want to miss this opportunity to learn all about the incredible variety of wildflowers you can find at the park.
Participants should meet the naturalist at the Stone Shelter parking lot for a 1.5 mile moderate intensity but family friendly guided hike on Frenchman's Bluff Trail. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, bring a camera and water, and wear sturdy shoes and insect repellent.
The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others.
