JEFFERSON CITY, MO, FEB. 27, 2025 – Visitors traveling to Ha Ha Tonka State Park need to be aware a large highway project is starting Monday, March 3.
In Camden County, Route D through Ha Ha Tonka State Park will undergo various phases of construction continuing through June. Construction will close one lane of Route D between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Crews will construct shoulders on the first 4.75 miles south of U.S. Route 54 and shift the road away from the historic post office. This will improve safety through the park and around the building. After the shoulder work, the Missouri Department of Transportation will resurface Camden County Route D from U.S. Route 54 to Laclede County Route E.
Visitors should expect:
- Heavy traffic delays. Plan for extra travel time.
- Temporary closures of park trails and trailheads near construction zones.
- Possible lane restrictions at times.
