JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MAY 2, 2023 – Celebrate Harry S Truman’s 139th birthday Saturday, May 6. Join representatives from Harry S Truman Birthplace State Historic Site and the Barton County Chamber of Commerce as the town of Lamar steps back in time, celebrating the decades of Truman’s life. 

The event showcases Truman’s life, starting in 1884 and going through World War I, when Truman was an army captain, and continuing to World War II, when he became president. Historical demonstrations, vendors and musical entertainment will be on-site throughout the event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
