JEFFERSON CITY, MO, APRIL 8, 2022 – Veterans will the have opportunity to experience the fun of catching fish at Bennett Spring State Park Veterans Free Fishing Day from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23.
Tags can be obtained in the park store, and fishing will begin and end with sirens at the park. The daily limit is four trout. To keep brown trout, the fish must be 15 inches or larger. There is no minimum length limit for rainbow trout. A single pole or rod may be used. If anglers keep their trout, the fish must be identified with the angler’s name and address.
Wading is permitted by anglers only. Bennett Spring has three fishing zones that are based on the type of bait used. A map and more information regarding fishing rules and regulations can be obtained at the park store or at mostateparks.com/page/54109/fishing.
Due to the Easter holiday this event, typically the third Saturday in April, has been moved to April 23.
The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others.
