JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 12, 2023 – The Bennett Spring State Park nature center will host the Springfield Basket Guild for a public basket weaving demonstration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 15. During this free event, you will have an opportunity to see weavers using natural fibers to make beautiful baskets.
The Springfield Basket Guild is a group of volunteers who are dedicated to preserving and perpetuating the art of basketry, stimulating interest and knowledge in basketry, and preserving the importance of basketry as a heritage craft. Come observe the diverse skills and abilities of those who share a love for basketry.
