JEFFERSON CITY, MO, MARCH 23, 2022 – This spring and summer Battle of Pilot Knob Historic Site will host a living history event each month, April to September. Historic site team members will host the first Living History Saturday of the 2022 season from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9.

Team members will be in period dress and offer special tours of the battlefield and the fort. A demonstration of basic daily military life will be provided and visitors will get to sample a common soldier’s meal.

Each month, there will be special presentations from reenactors and historic skills demonstrators. Each event will cover a different topic related to the Civil War and the battle and will have its own announcement providing details on the special presentations and on which Saturday the event will be held.

As an added bonus, historic site team members will offer an event passport to participants who attend all six events. Passport holders will have their name added to a drawing for one of six VIP passes to the next battle reenactment planned for September 2024.

The public is strongly encouraged to follow social-distancing guidelines and be proactive in protecting themselves and others.

Battle of Pilot Knob State Historic Site is located at 118 E. Maple St. in Pilot Knob. For more information about the event, call the site at 573-546-3454.
