Basket weaving classes scheduled at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JAN. 28, 2025 – Team members at First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site are getting crafty. Join them at a monthly basket weaving class to learn how to make a handcrafted basket.

All materials will be supplied. Participants are encouraged to bring drinks and snacks if wanted. Class size is limited, and registration is required. Register online at icampmo.com, search “Activities” and select “First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site.” You may sign up for any day a particular class is offered, as well as for multiple classes. Please note registration carries a $5 fee that is not included in the class fee. For more information, call the historic site at 636-940-3322.

The dates and types of baskets offered are as follows:

  • Friday, Jan. 31, Saturday, Feb. 1, and Sunday, Feb. 2: Banded Basket - $60.
  • Friday, March 28, Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30: Fancy Market Basket - $55.
  • Friday, May 2, Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4: Oblong Curls Basket - $60.
  • Friday, June 20, Saturday, June 21, and Sunday, June 22: Little Lunch Basket - $45.

First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site is located at 200 S. Main St. in St. Charles.
