The city of Huntsville, Missouri is requesting bids for a wastewater facility upgrade. Sealed bids may be submitted at Huntsville City Hall, 205 South Main Street, Huntsville, Missouri, 65259, until 10 a.m. on Aug. 13, 2025.

The project consists of the construction of the Huntsville Phase I Sewer Improvements and will generally include the following:

  • Testing and Rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer to reduce total extraneous 
    water entering the system.
  • Re-testing to confirm rehabilitation work is sound.
  • Various levels of rehabilitation of about 120 other manholes.
  • Replacement of about 885 lineal feet of eight-inch gravity sewer with PVC pipe through pipe bursting.
  • Site restoration and other miscellaneous work to return project sites the same or better condition as before the project began.
  • All other work shown on the Drawings and called for in the Specifications

Obtaining the Bidding Documents

Copies of plans and specifications can be seen or purchased for a Non-Refundable fee on-line at www.drexeltech.com in their eDistribution plan room, additional assistance is available at distribution@drexeltech.com. Information regarding this project can be found in the “Public Jobs” link on the website. Contractors desiring the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies; 10840 West 86th Street, Lenexa, Kansas, 66214, telephone number is 913-371-4430. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.

Questions on the Bid Documents from general contractors and sub-contractors will be answered by the Macon, Missouri, office of the Consulting Engineer. All questions must be submitted using the Request for Information Form (RFI) included in the specifications to Susan Copenhaver of the consulting engineer via e-mail at scopenhaver@mcclurevision.com. Any explanation or interpretation made will be in the form of a written response on the RFI form or by Addendum issued by the Consulting Engineer and furnished to all Bidders identified as plan holders of record. Questions received less than ten (10) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Requests for substitutions shall be made per Specification Section 01 25 00 Substitution Procedures.

All Bidders are required to obtain plans and specifications from Drexel Technologies Planroom and must be listed as a plan holder for the bid submitted to be valid. Any bidder not listed on the plan holders list will have their bid rejected.

Instructions to Bidders

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 A.M. on August 6, 2025, at the Huntsville City Hall, 205 South Main Street, Huntsville, Missouri, 65259. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not 
required.

All bidders are required to make the six good faith efforts to assure compliance with the State’s “fair share goals” and are required to comply with EEO regulations.

Nondiscrimination in Employment - Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order Number 11246. Requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications.

This project is financed through the Missouri State Revolving Fund, by the Water and Wastewater Loan Revolving Fund and federal Capitalization Grants to Missouri.

Construction shall follow the requirements of the American Iron & Steel Provisions explained in the specifications.

Minimum wage rates for this contract shall be prevailing wage rates as determined by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and the Davis Bacon Act, as issued by the US Department of Labor. The wage rates are set forth in the contract documents and are to be considered as a part of this Bid.

The project contractor and each subcontractor shall require each on-site employee to complete the 10-hour safety program required under Section 292.675, RSMo, within 60 days of beginning any of the work on the project, if he or she has not previously completed the program or does not have documentation of doing so.
