The department invites the public to review and offer written comments on the draft 2024-2026 303(d) Listing Methodology Document until July 22, 2024. Written comments may be submitted by mail to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Water Protection Program, Attn: Robert Voss, P.O. Box 176, Jefferson City, MO 65102-0176, or by email to impairedwaters@dnr.mo.gov.
Section 303(d) of the federal Clean Water Act requires that each state identify waters not meeting water quality standards and for which adequate water pollution controls have not been required. The 303(d) list helps state and federal agencies keep track of impaired waters not addressed by normal water pollution control programs. The proposed Draft 2024-2026 303(d) Listing Methodology document is the written methodology document the department is required to submit to EPA, which describes the department’s approach in considering and evaluating existing readily available data used to develop Missouri's 303(d) list of impaired waterbodies.
The department will hold two public meetings to discuss the draft document. Please follow the link below for meeting dates.
