Canadian Pacific Kansas City Southern requested Section 401 Water Quality Certification to accompany Permit No. NWK-2023-00403/CEK007468. The project is located in Section 32, Township 57 North, Range 24 West in Livingston County. CPKC is proposing to construct a new 12,000 ft siding track clear zone adjacent to an existing railway. Impacts will include earthen and/or rock fill in two wetlands totaling .54 acres and two intermittent streams totaling 138 linear ft. According to the department's geospatial data, both wetlands and one stream are not classified in Missouri Water Quality Standards Missouri Use Designation Dataset, and the stream has no assigned designated uses.
This project is a capital improvement project associated with the Final Environmental Impact Statement for the Canadian Pacific Acquisition of Kansas City Southern Railway.
