The department's Water Protection Program is holding a stakeholder meeting to discuss revisions to Code of State Regulations, 10 CSR 20-8.130(7). The current regulation requires pump stations to be designed with storage that is intended to prevent/ mitigate sanitary sewer overflows during emergency situations (power outages). The department is considering adding a provision to the rule that would allow an alternative design to address these situations. The alternative design under consideration would allow applicants to specify installing dedicated emergency generators. This option may allow a less expensive design alternative which may also be useful during potential extended outages. The draft rule text and any supporting documents related to the revision are available at the link below.
