The Energy Audit Reimbursement Program provides up to $1 million in total funding for Level II ASHRAE energy audits up to a maximum of $20,000 per recipient. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Energy Audit Reimbursement Program uses funding received from the U.S. Department of Energy under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. Awards are made on a first-come, first-served application process until June 30, 2025, or until all funds are obligated — whichever comes first.

NOTE: For this FY2025 cycle, there will be no extensions of the budget/project deadline.

Eligibility

Eligible entities include public K-12 schools, public two- and four-year higher education institutions and local governments (including hospital districts, sewer districts, water supply districts, sub-districts of a zoological park and museum districts and publicly owned municipal, county, regional and international airport facilities). Entities who have utilized the Energy Audit Reimbursement Program in previous cycles are not eligible to apply. 

Application and Supporting Documents

The application period for the FY2025 Energy Audit Reimbursement Program runs from Dec. 2, 2024, to June 30, 2025.

If the applicant provides any “personal information” as defined in section 105.1500, RSMo, concerning an entity exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, the applicant understands and agrees that it is voluntarily choosing to seek funding and providing such information for that purpose. The state will treat such personal information in accord with section 105.1500, RSMo.
